Our Story

In mid-2005 God began to stir in the hearts of several mission-minded people that they might start a new church work in south central PA. Pastor Larry Snyder, who was born and raised in this great area, along with others spent time preparing and praying about ministering to the Hummelstown/Hershey area.

In the summer of 2006 a blending of about 16 people began meeting for Bible Studies in home and surveying the community to find the best ways to serve. God provided and over the next 18 months more Bible Studies and community service projects took place throughout eastern Harrisburg and Hershey.

In December, 2007 Living Legacy Church began meeting in Hershey, PA at the Granada Ave Gym & Fitness Center on Sunday mornings for worship, and in March of 2012 moved to worship for 2+ years in the basement of the Derry Twp. Historical Society. Our church currently worships at our permanent home of 228 McCorkle Road in Hershey, which they were blessed with in June of 2014.

In January of 2019 Jon Weigel became the second pastor of Living Legacy.  He is married to Dottie and they have two young girls.  Prior to moving to Pennsylvania, the Weigel's served for nine years at Grace Church of Columbia in Columbia, South Carolina.

Living Legacy is also currently fulfilling their mission of being a church that starts new churches. They have been involved in planting a church in Harrisburg and are currently seeking planters who are willing to train with them to plant in central Pennsylvania and beyond.   You can find out more about planting at our resources page.
